Professor Kinam Park receives AAPS Research Achievement Award

Professor Kinam Park received the AAPS Research Achievement Award in Pharmaceutics and Drug Delivery at the annual meeting of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists in Denver, CO. This award is given biannually to recognize exceptional contributions by the leaders of the field. Previous recipients have included Bob Langer (MIT), Sung Wan Kim (Utah), and Park's former doctoral thesis supervisor, Joe Robinson (Wisconsin).

Professor Park's research focuses on the use of various polymers and hydrogels for controlled drug delivery. He has developed superporous hydrogels, sol-gel phase reversible hydrogels, and hydrotropic polymers. Park is a professor of pharmaceutics and biomedical engineering at Purdue University, and is currently President of the over-3000 member Controlled Release Society.
