Research Summary:
My primary interest in the technology transfer aspect of wood finishing research. Since 1991, I have organized and offered several educational programs on wood finishing and sanding to the industry. These programs brought together wood finishers, suppliers, academia and the trade press to discuss current issues, application techniques and materials. Well over 1000 industry representatives have attended.
My secondary interest is applied research concerning the interaction of wood as a material with surface preparation, finishing materials, and application techniques. The use of SEM in obtaining a better understanding of quality is a particular interest.
