IMSL Edition 10.0 is now available for fort compiler. The fort version of the IMSL Edition 10.0 library has been installed on all ECN Gould PN9080 machines (CA, EI, GA, MG). To use it, compile your program using the command
fort prog.f -lfortimslib
The Edition 9.2 compatibility routines have also been installed for use with the fort compiler. These are stored in the directory /usr/lib/imsl9.2 under the file names fortsiface.a and fortdiface.a. For more information on the use of these libraries, consult the document "Converting to IMSL Edition 10.0", available from your site specialist. NOTE: Because of a bug in the fort compiler, the DLSVCR and DMOLCH routines are not available in the fort version of the Edition 10.0 library. If you need one of these routines, either use the single precision routine or else use the ``f77'' compiler.
The IMSL Edition 10.0 library and the Edition 9.2 compatibility libraries have been recompiled on the Gould NP-1 machine (EN). The previously installed libraries were compiled with version 10.0 of the fort compiler, which was known to have bugs. The currently installed libraries have been recompiled and retested using version 10.4 of the compiler.
Due to bugs in version 10.4 of fort, the DINLAP, DLSVCR, DMOLCH, DZANLY, and ZWPLD routines are not available on the NP-1. If you require one of these functions, you should use the single precision version.
The IMSL Edition 10.0 software has been purchased for the ECN CCI Power 6/32 machine (EL). They are presently being compiled and tested, but there are several problems. Hopefully they will be available by the end of April.
A site license for IMSL Edition 10.0 has been purchased for Sun workstations. This license includes both the Sun-3 and Sun-4 processors, and will enable us to install the IMSL libraries on all ECN Sun machines. There is presently no timetable for the installation of IMSL on the Suns (the tapes have yet to be shipped), but it should hopefully be completed sometime near the end of the Spring semester.
