[previous article] [next article]The ECN will be completing the upgrade of the DOCUMENTER'S WORKBENCH software from version 1.0 to version 2.0 during the spring semester. As part of this upgrade the DWB 2.0 versions of tbl, pic, mmt, mst, nmt, mvt, mmn, msn, nmn, checkmm, tc, and macref currently in /usr/dwb/2 will be installed in the default path. In addition the commands grap, diffmk, ptx, hyphen, subj, and ndx which are new with DWB 2.0 will be installed in the default path. The current plan calls for these installations to be completed by May 7th.
In addition, the current schedule calls for the /usr/dwb/1 directory to be removed on May 28th. If you are currently using commands that access /usr/dwb/1 (such as "/usr/dwb/1/mmt") or have commands like this in any shell script files or aliases, please change these to use just the command name ("mmt" in this case) as soon as possible. If making this change causes problems in the way your documents print, please inform your site specialist.
The /usr/dwb/2 directory is scheduled to be removed on August 13th. As all the DWB 2.0 programs should be installed in the default path by May 7th, please plan to stop using commands from /usr/dwb/2 (for example: "/usr/dwb/2/grap") and to start using just the command name (ex: "grap") after May 7th. If you have any shell scripts or aliases that access commands in /usr/dwb/2 you will need to modify them sometime between May 7th and August 13th.
