Workstations For Engineering

Undergrad workstations are coming to Purdue! The Purdue University Computing Center opened its undergraduate workstation labs in ENAD at the beginning of this semester. These labs consist of 84 Sun Microsystems IPC computers and a Sun Microsystems 4/490 fileserver (feserve). These machines are operated by the Computing Center for use by freshman level computing courses.

The Schools of Engineering are happy to announce that workstation labs are also being set up in the various Engineering Departments with many installations being made available to undergraduates.

Most of the Engineering Department workstations will be similar to the workstations recently installed by the Computing Center. Each department will have its own fileserver. All of the hardware is on order, and the ECN expects to have it installed and running during the Fall semester.
