ECN Public Overhauled

The ECN Public file server has been overhauled. The latest, most up to date software has been installed. In addition, most software has been compressed to make better use of the space available as well as to make downloading faster (because it's smaller). You double click on the item after you have downloaded it to your machine, and it expands to its original self. Please make sure you always UNMOUNT THE SERVER WHEN YOU AREN'T USING IT

Just drag the server to the trash. Keeping it on your desktop slows down the network in your building.

Also new is a "Server Info" folder. Inside that folder are files called "Index" and "New Items." The "Index" file is a comprehensive listing of everything on the server, where it's located, and its version number. The "New Items" file contains recent (weekly) additions to the server. Download them every now and then and see what's available. I may post the "New Items" listing every month to this mac mailing list (let me know what you think).

The Index shows what is inside each folder (including the version number) on the ECN Public file server. For example, inside the "Commercial Software" folder there is another folder called "Upgrades", and inside that folder are upgrade utilities to upgrade to the latest available.
