On-line Fax Service Available

Convenience is sending a fax from the comfort of your office. To learn how to use the on-line fax system at the ECN, obtain the ECN document #164 Using NetFax from your site specialist. The on-line fax system sends electronic documents as a CCITT Group 3 fax to a given phone number. The system will send ASCII text files, PostScript files, troff, or TeX DVI files. NOTE: you must have your name placed in the "master access file" to use the fax system; please discuss this with your site specialist.

The on-line fax system has many options. You can...

• delay a fax to be sent at a later time.
• send one document to multiple recipients.
• customize your coversheet (add personal comments).
• suppress the coversheet and use your own.
• send only a coversheet with a message.
• set up single and group recipient aliases, phone number aliases.
• "carbon copy" the fax to your own fax machine or an ECN LaserWriter.
• send high or low resolution faxes.
