Is sending out your resumes to companies one-by-one getting cumbersome? Maybe the price of postage and good quality paper is creating a dent in your money supply. If so, you might want to take advantage of a new resume database service available via Internet.
Online Career Center, Inc. (OCC) is a new non-profit organization located in Indianapolis that benefits both job seekers and employers. William Warren, executive director of OCC, said there are already more than 3,000 companies using Internet for employment purposes, but OCC organizes the various online job searches.
For no charge, job seekers can post resumes in the database, review more than 8,000 job listings, receive company information and profiles, and find other career-assistance resources. Job seekers transmit their resumes via e-mail. Employers can then search through the database of resumes by region, profession or other criteria to find potential employees.
In addition, employers can also post "want-ads" and job openings for job hunters to browse through and respond to. Again, access to the database is free of charge to job hunters.
Companies such as AT&T, Kraft, DuPont, Alcoa, Procter & Gamble, Monsanto, and many other smaller companies use OCC to post job openings and recruit potential employees.
Information about Online Career Center and how to make your
resume available to thousands of employers nationwide is just a
few key strokes away. Send an e-mail message addressed to:
"occ-info@msen.com" with "info" typed on the subject line. OCC
will respond with instructions via e-mail in just a few minutes.
