Cooperative Education brings the worlds of education and work together through alternating sessions of full-time work and full-time study. On the job, Co-Ops learn first hand about their potential career by working directly with professionals in their field. In the classroom, Co-Ops study the theory that makes their work meaningful.
This newest engineering web site is in the throes of building. Currently they have their structure in place and are now busily authoring information in each category. Over the years they have collected a vast array of photographs of students from all academic areas working their co-op jobs. One photo I liked was the Aero student working for NASA modeling a space suit! Keep watching for the addition of their photos.
The Co-Op Program was formally initiated in 1954 and today it serves 1,200 students and 400 employers from private industry and government agencies. Take a look at this site today and re-check it in a few weeks to see the growth process. Plans are to have it polished and ready for the returning students in Fall.
