Have you ever known WHAT you need to do but not HOW to do it? If so, don't feel badly, most of us fall into this category at one time or another. The in depth solution is to buy a book on the topic. The answer for a quick question is to scan the ECN FAQs to see if your question has been answered.
The ECN FAQs contain stock answers to questions on topics ranging from "AutoCad" to the "World Wide Web." You can look up answers to your questions at the URL specified above. From here you can select the general subject about which you want more information. After choosing a general subject, a list of all the questions and subtopics related to the topic you chose will be displayed.
For Example:
Suppose I wanted to know how to print a Matlab graphic as a postscript file. In this
case I would look under the Matlab section of the FAQs.
Once the list of questions is generated, I would select the question
How do I print a Matlab Graph as Postscript? to review the answer.
If this answer doesn't fully explain your question
or if you have a special circumstance requiring a unique approach,
use the webmaster-faq mail interface at the bottom of each FAQ listing.
This lets you communicate
directly with the person who maintains the FAQs and is also a great way
to find answers to more difficult questions.
Searching The FAQs
There might be times when you need information but don't know which topic
it's located under.
In this case use the FAQ search interface to guide you
through your quest.
It's located on the top of the FAQ listings.
To search for a question, input a keyword or phrase into the query box and press "search" . This will execute a full text search of all the FAQs and give you a list of possible questions to choose from. To review an answer, select one of the questions returned by your search query.
The ECN FAQs are growing. There is a chance that your question has not yet been answered in the FAQs. Send new questions via the webmaster-faq mail interface. By using this feature of the FAQs, not only will you receive an answer to your question but your query will be added to the inventory of ECN FAQs. When asking a question please be as specific as possible and include all relevant information, this will make the task of answering the question easier and will enable a quicker response.
