University Printing Service is "here to serve," and they can accomplish virtually any printing job that can be imagined. If a job is beyond the scope of their equipment, they will solicit the services of an outside vendor to get the job done. They will preview a potential job for you and determine the processes to be done, approximate turn-around time, and price, before you submit your work. The service is here for any university associated material from faculty, staff, and students. They can do anything from copying class notes, to newsletters, year-books, and promotional presentations, as long as it is university related.

Electronic File Transfer
Jobs can be sent via FTP in many different forms and for many different purposes. They can accommodate text and postscript files, several different image formats, and even application files. These files can also be e-mailed or brought in on diskette. While Printing Services does their work on Macs, they have the resources to convert to and from many formats. The only physical interaction that is needed for many electronic jobs is to fill out the proper form which can be picked up at the satellite centers on campus.

Printing Services is not just a print shop. It also offers complete electronic formatting and composing. They are prepared to accept various file formats for many different applications and across several platforms. They also offer electronic image formatting and scanning. Graphical reproduction abilities from both electronic and physical sources are extensive.

Color and even graphical transparencies can be made from hard copies as well as the above sources. Electronic is preferred. The results from electronic source are of equal or better quality than hard copy, particularly for many graphical jobs. The set price for transparencies is $4 for the first copy and $2 there after, up to one-hundred copies, from electronic files.

Web Site
The above URL is for Printing Service's informative web page. It gives explicit instructions for FTP files, and much more. This site is still under construction and they plan to have it completed in the next six to twelve months.

Printing Services also performs different types of artwork reproduction, bindery, and mailing. Payment can be made personally or through an account, depending on the circumstances.
